I met with two great women entrepreneurs yesterday to preview their website creation, https://townappeal.com/. Tara Reilly and Monica Pondiccio are spearheading a TOWNWIDE, ALL INCLUSIVE WEBSITE. I was immediately intrigued by the concept of a town wide website where you could go to find the best of the best in Brookfield. Instead of seeing the same post on Facebook again and again, you go to this site and register as a NEIGHBOR. You find the category and see how many and which of your neighbors has recommended each business. The businesses are categorized and then ranked in the order of the number of thumbs up that they get. There is no space for negative or positive comments, just thumbs up and the name of the person who recommended them.
There are also article about local events, issues and businesses and a complete, townwide calendar of events, including YMCA classes, Chamber of Commerce Events, School Events and much more.
EVERY Business, register in Brookfield, either at home or a store front is listed. Some businesses have expanded their presence by buying ads or enhancing their profiles. Where some sites are exclusive to their members, this site has EVERY business. If a business is not listed it is because it is a home business not registered with the town. Currently, if you are a member of the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce, you will get a FREE Enhanced Business Profile for a limited time (I think until March 1st). This profile will feature links to your website, social media platform, your logo and email address. After that it is such a nominal fee that it would be silly not to take advantage of the Enhanced Profile. There are also opportunities to advertise in the monthly enewsletter or to write articles.
For residents, it is one stop shopping for recommendations, events and area information. For businesses it is an inexpensive way to gain visibility. I will add a note here that the businesses need to help with the REACH of this site by asking their clients to go on and become NEIGHBORS so that they will give them a thumbs up.
