Recently a Seattle based firm presented an impressive proposal for a senior housing project for Brookfield. It would tentatively be located on 4.08 acres just north of the Rollingwood Complex between Ashley Furniture and the Woodbin plaza. An assisted living and memory care facility comprised of a three story building, it would house 115 units (137 beds)- 89 suites in the assisted care and 26 in the memory impaired wings. There would be studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom units as well as shared, semi-private units in the memory care area as well as café, living room, media area and other common and office areas. It is estimated that the facility will employ over 50 staff members.
The proposal was well received by the members of the zoning commission and there were many member of the community there to ask questions ranging from traffic to service deliveries which seemed to be answered in a satisfactory manner. The proposal includes 2 entrances on Federal Road as well as an access road on Tara Drive.
